100!

Guess what today was? The 100th day of second grade! (And the electricity and heat were on, so we were able to celebrate in comfort.)
J's art work was selected from all the second graders in our school to be displayed in the district exhibition at the Baker Center.
We read some "100 Day Poems".
We read a long 100 day poem that had 100 words!
It was also Pocket Day #10. Today we worked in groups to find the strategy that would best help us find the answer.
Mrs. O even gave us the answer: she just wanted to see the orderly way we solved the addition of 17 numbers.
We made 100 Day Trail Mix to help us have energy to end the year. Everybody brought 100 pieces that they added with clean hands, right?
We mixed it together for a wonderful snack. We'd need the energy to do the next 2 activities.
We rolled a die 100 times to see which number came up the most. We made a prediction before we started, and then checked it. We made a graph as a class to see which number came up the most.
Then, we flipped a coin 100 times to see if we had heads or tails the most. We compiled that data as a class, too.

At the end of the day, we watched the kindergarten's 100 Day Parade and went to the library. A good time was had by all.

There is prediction of snow for tomorrow. Class pictures have been cancelled for tomorrow. If there is snow, the teacher will be in late (we will have a sub) because I have to come from farther north of town. Have a WARM evening!
