First lost tooth of the year! Congratulations, E!

Today, the students helped me sort out and straighten books in our classroom library. We are reviewing how to pick a "just right book". Here is a song that is helping us:
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I: I choose, not you - I choose my book
I choose, not you - I choose my book.
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
P: Purpose, Purpose - Why am I reading?
Purpose, Purpose - Why am I reading?
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I: Interest, Interest - Do I like it?
Interest, Interest - Do I like it?
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
C: Comprehend - Do I understand?
Comprehend - Do I understand?
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
K: Know - Do I know most of the words?
Know - Do I know most of the words?
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K
I pick, I pick, I-P-I-C-K: YEAH!

In Science we had an Exploration Station. We had a vocabulary sheet of Science materials we will be using this year. We got to looked over our materials and then drew them on the vocabulary sheet.

Balances help us to weigh and compare.

Hand lenses help us to magnify (enlarge things to see small details.)

Goggles will keep our eyes safe while doing experiments.

Gloves will keep chemicals and unsafe things off of our hands.

(They also make for a funny picture!)

We signed a district-wide safety contract for use of materials in the science room. Have you returned your yet?
(PS: Look for the Exemplary Campus flag flying from our flagpole!)
