ABCD Build a snowman just for me.
FGHIJ Please don't let him melt away.
KLMNO Is he melting? No, no, no!
PQRST Down he melts away from me
UVWXYZ I'll build him again; you will see!
January Song (to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)
January has begun!
Now it's time for winter fun!
Put some warm socks on your toes!
Feel the snowflakes on your nose!
Celebrate the brand new year!
Wintertime is finally here!
Winter Song (to the tune of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider)
In winter I go sledding
And down the hill I slide!
When it gets too cold to play
I have to come inside
I sit under a blanket
By the fireplace
Sipping on hot cocoa
As I warm my hands and face.
I am a snowman round and fat,
And Snowy is my name-o!
S-N-O-W-Y, S-N-O-W-Y, S-N-O-W-Y,
And Snowy is my name-o!
(On the chart below that one, we count down from 5 to 0 snowmen...)
We feed the Old Woman winter words that we can read!
Mixing up the ordinal numbers for the next student to unscramble.
We wrote our names like snowmen. (We also will write our initials, last names, and age like snowmen.)
We drew these things on our snowmen. Don't we do delightful art work?
The children asked me to post these winter jokes on the blog. (We practiced reading them in class.)
Q: Why do birds fly south for the winter?
A: It is too far to walk!
Q: What wears a coat in winter and pants in summer?
A: A dog.
Q: What do you get if you cross a snowman with a tiger?
A: Frostbite.
Q: What do snowmen eat for lunch?
A: Icebergers
Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Ach.
Ach who?
May I get you a tissue?
(Cue hilarious laughter and rolling on the floor. Did you know children laugh over a 100 times a day and adults laugh only 7 times a day? Maybe these jokes will bring you at least 5 more laughs!)
