Out With the Old; In With the NEW!

Did you notice the new "look" to our classroom blog? Gather around and I'll tell you the story of how it came to be. About 20 years ago, I had a little first grade girl in the district-wide talented and gifted program I led. She has now grown into a beautiful wife and mother of a three year old! She is also a stay at home mom (while her husband completes law school), and she volunteered to give our blog a makeover. Well....YES! Thanks, Autumn, it looks wonderful. (Can you believe that you were once the age of these little guys when you were in my classroom all those years ago?)

Luca lost another front tooth! (He also swallowed it and had to leave a note for the Tooth Fairy.)
Here is our New Year's Resolution display.
Our tree is ready for the cold winter days. (Didn't we do a GREAT job on the snowflakes?)
Here is our math bulletin board based on "All You Need For a Snowman" by Alice Schertle.
We were hoping for the best at the Rose Bowl last Thursday...Hook 'em Horns!
Today, the teacher had an unfortunate accident with a pair of scissors in the book room during lunch. She made an executive decision to have recess inside our room while she doctored the cut. We got to have free read, free write and free draw. A good time was had by all.
Oh, the places you can go with creative first graders!
We also got five extra minutes because we got a 5 in the cafeteria for good lunchroom behavior!
Calling all parents:
Our Treasure Box is running low on treasures. If you have any new or gently used items you can donate, we'd sure appreciate it!
