After school yesterday, Elliot, his sister, Amelie, and his mother, Heather, came by with a surprise: their new dog Terry! She was adopted and is a very happy dog to be part of Elliot's family. Look at that smile on her face.

Joseph entertained me with laps around the playground on his scooter after school. He is
very fast.

Today we had to fill out a form that told all of our favorite things. Mrs. O'Brien will turn them into word searches! (You can make your own word searches on discovery.com under games.)

Emma Kate: dressed like spring. She is saving those cute pink boots for my first female grandchild.

We started a poetry unit. Our first poem was an acrostic. This is when you take the first letters of your name and write about yourself. This is the poem the class composed about the teacher.

We carefully made our poetry book covers. Everyone had to write their first, middle and last names. Whew! It's beginning to look a lot like second grade around here.

See this pile? These are our art portfolios. They contain work we've done all year long in art with Ms. Reed. Be sure to look for them to come home today, and to admire all the work in them!
Only 7 more days of school. How did this year go by so quickly? Summer is coming. Bet you can't wait!
