20 Days Then Adios!

Today we worked on multiple choice checking questions for the back of our "Time for Insects" research projects. These questions will challenge the readers of our "Time for Insects." to see if they have learned facts from our research.
We also worked on some Top Secret Mother's Day Projects. (They are in the backpacks along with a secret gift we have worked on ALL YEAR! Bet you moms can not wait to see what is coming your way!)
Special Visitor Alert! ER's mom brought his cousins by for a lunchtime visit. They fit right into our second grade class and brought us a lot of happiness.
IP is modeling the new Art Club t-shirt. (We decided it looks like Indiana Lego.) We love this shirt!
The cafeteria staff dressed up in honor of Cinco de Mayo: May the fifth, which is Mexican Independence Day.
(While we are here, let's take a peek at the serving line. Not something you get to see often. And guess what is coming on the last week of school on the lunch menu? Manager's Choice also know as "clean out the freezer" week.)
We had a Cinco de Mayo assembly at the end of the day led by our Spanish teacher Mrs. AL. We sang, we clapped, EM danced before the crowd...and a good time was had by all!

Remember:
  • I will be out tomorrow for Heather's graduation from TCU's Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth. (Woo Hoo!) Sub will be Mrs. B (former first grade teacher at Gullett).
  • Spelling test tomorrow over the first 38 Word Wall Words.
  • Today was the last day to sign up for the Talent Show.
  • Look for an order form to buy books by Janet Stevens/Susan Stevens Crummel. These are former Gullet students who are now famous authors. Janet Stevens will be visiting our school next week for this year's Author Visit.
  • Since I won't see you tomorrow: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Hope you enjoy the present/ card we made.
