Today was "Make the Movement Day" and the entire school danced the "Cha Cha Slide" after announcements.

We even had a dad joining in on the fun. (Thanks, JA!)

EK's mom helped by taking down our Word Wall Words. Why, you ask? Because we will be tested over 1-38 on Friday and we can't have the words on the wall anymore!

Guess what else it was today? TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY! This teacher is feeling mighty appreciated with all the beautiful flowers, cards and gifts. I love these bouquets where every student brings a different flower. It reminds me of how different each individual is, but what a great class we make all together.

We all added a post-it note to the "Number of the Day" board to show a different way to represent our 155th day of school. (CB is recovering nicely from his broken foot.)

Today, we did the layout and paste-up of our "Time for Insects" edition. This showcases the research we have done on our insects. We talked about design and what is pleasing to the eye. We made fillers, but we also left some white space.

This is the old school way to layout a booklet. Today, people can do layouts on a computer. (PS: You are going to be amazed at these projects! They are so good that I am going to laminate them so they will last and last.)

We worked with shapes in math and wrote about the flight of the butterflies in science.
Tomorrow we will celebrate Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) during an assembly.
Thank you parents and students for all the sweet cards and gifts. I feel so appreciated!
I'd like to share a few of the things students wrote about me in the booklet I was presented with this morning:
- She loves to teach, she likes math and she is not lazy.
- One thing I love about Mrs. O is that she is always a decider and decides very great stuff to do.
- She will play tag with us on the playground. I really like "bee-ing" a bumblebee!
- What I like about her is she's always happy!
- Mrs. O, I am happy to see you every day.
Pass out the Kleenex for the teacher who will really miss this great bunch next year!
