New Centers and Predictions

We began working on some new February centers to prepare us for Valentine's Day.
We made words using the letters in "Happy Valentine's Day", but the words had to have 4 or more letters.

The Old Woman swallowed Valentine words like: heart, cupid, sweet, heart and Valentine.
We are learning to spell "Happy Valentine's Day" for the cards we will be making.
We are matching teacher/staff names to their positions because we'll be addressing Valentine's cards to them soon.
We wrote our Valentine's names in hearts. (Are you on here?)
This "February Song" is sung to the tune of "Oh, My Darling Clementine."
This little song will help us spell "Valentine"!
This chart helps us identify number words and count out the corresponding number of hearts.
We matched first names and last names. Next we will put first names in ABC order and then last names in ABC order. This will help us address and deliver Valentines in our classroom!
Tomorrow is the big day: Groundhog Day?
We made predictions (good guesses): would he see his shadow or not?
Yes means 6 more weeks of winter, no means winter is over.
Here are our votes.
I'm in a roomful of children who get excited over Groundhog Day! Don't you wish you had my job in this magical place?
