Today's Queen of Show-and-Tell is EH. She brought a trinket box that was given to her as a birthday gift by another member of the class. She had researched the origin of these boxes and had written her facts out on notecards to do a great job on her presentation.

EJ was the King of Show-and-Tell today. He brought in a caterpillar in a manmade habitat. He also did some research at
www.whatsthatbug.com (click link to visit site) to find out what kind of butterfly it may become.

Our Flat Stanleys are in the mail! Wonder which one will make it back to our classroom first? We are studying maps right now. We found the locations our Flat Stanleys will be visiting. We marked these on a US map. The tricky part? The states were not labeled! We had to locate the state on another map that listed the states and then find it on this map. (Class grade? 100%!)
We also wrote a who/what/when/where/why/what/how story about our Flat Stanleys. Very interesting stories!

Notice anything different about recess? Today was the TAKS test for the fifth graders, so we could not use the playground near their wing of the school. We had our recess time with another class on the lawn near our room. What a beautiful spring day!
