This is what the teacher saw on the sidewalk on the way into school today. Yes, the
TAKS tests are now over.

Our librarian was kind enough to leave her party at the Royal Wedding this morning to come in and lead our assembly.

The kindergarten did a terrific job of teaching us about maps.

We wrote our observations about what the containers look like now that the chrysalises have been removed. We wrote about what was left in the container of mallow.

Here are the
chrysalises hanging in a new container. They should emerge as adult butterflies in the next 5-10 days.

April Reading Celebration! Our class read for 15, 594 minutes (or 260 hours or almost 11 days) this month! ER, EM and EH all read for over 1,000 minutes. CD read for over 2,000 minutes. (He read more than an hour a day!) Our May Reading Contest starts on Monday!

We had a visitor after lunch today. This is kind of like a "Where's Waldo" picture, except the question is "Where's Bobby?" He was behaving like a second grader, so he fits right in.

He's even easier to spot here, because he is the only one who looks normal....

Oh, no! Looks like he crossed over to the other side! (Hope your haircut went well, Bobby!)

Here we are looking over our finished Second Grade Portfolios. We used them to make a list of "The Top Ten Things We Loved About Second Grade". (Personally, I think it is difficult to narrow it down to just 10.)
I guess everyone got my letter by now that I will not be returning to our school next year because I am taking a job closer to home as an elementary principal. I will sure miss this school and all the Bumblebee Families!
