We started the day off in an assembly where Mrs. O was presented a birthday book! We loved it and she hopes the other teachers will get in the habit of buying birthday books, too.

We researched insect books and took notes on what attributes an insect has (6 legs, 3 body parts and an exoskeleton). We all made lists of insects of that were interesting and then made our final insect selections privately.

We spent some more time with interesting measuring problems. Inches or centimeters? That is the question.

An exciting day in second grade: we get to use the "big kid" playscape for the rest of the year! First up: an orientation of rules by fifth grade teacher, Mr. D.

And there they go! We were responsible and respectful on the new equipment. (We did have a few blisters and ant bites, however.)

Next up: dress rehearsal for "Going Buggy"!

Our class has quite a few solos in the program. Here are a few. R singing "That's No Way to Treat a Ladybug".

AG giving a speech as a wasp.

And E, starring as a spider.
("Going Buggy" will be presented at 1:30 pm on Monday at school and 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening. Be in the library at 6:45 pm for costumes.)
Have a great weekend. 37 more days. We can do this.
