I love how creative everyone is being with Thursday night spelling homework! C spelled his words out with coins and then took pictures of them.

J spelled his words out in powdered sugar on a cookie sheet and took a picture of them.

E worked with her words several different ways, but we loved the game where she and her dad threw a ball back and forth to each other. With each pass of the ball, they spelled out one letter of a word until they had completed the spelling of a word.

E wrote his words on the sidewalk with chalk, then he wrote the words on Etch-a-Sketches and took pictures of the results.

O used her words in a story that was like the ABC book stories we read in library yesterday. (Good connection!)

I spelled his several ways: once in blocks that were photographed and once on a round piece of wood.

R cut out letters from magazines to spell her words.

E wrote a wonderfully imaginative story with his words.

L wrote his words on a white board, took a picture of them, emailed the picture to Mrs. O, and then she printed it!

First counselor visit of the year! Ms. K came to our room with her friend, Kelso the Kissing Frog. She talked to us about the difference between tattling and reporting. She also told us some of Kelso's choices:
If you have a SMALL problem, you can work it out with someone trying two of these choices:
- make a deal
- wait and cool off
- go to another game
- share and take turns
- talk it out
- walk away
- ignore it
- tell them to stop
- apologize
If you have a BIG problem, tell an adult you trust.
And then our wonderful day ended, but we have one more thing to say...

HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!
