Special Edition
Today, we had a very special visitor in our classroom. L's aunt, Carolyn Cohagan, is an author who is in town to participate in the Texas Book Festival this weekend.
She stopped by to share one of her books with us. First, she had several students read information about some of the characters in her book. She also helped us with the definitions of some words she would be reading.
Then, she read Chapter 3 to us from her book "The Lost Children". (Chapter 3! We totally want to know the details of what happens in Chapters 1-2 now!)
We were a very attentive audience. After a question and answer period, Ms. Cohagan read us Chapter 4. (We can't wait to find out what happens next!)
She posed with our classroom full of good readers. Thank you for coming to our room and sharing your story of how you became an author with us! We enjoyed hearing parts of your book.
If you would like to see Ms. Cohagan at the Texas Book Festival this weekend, here is a link to her schedule and locations. (Saturday 2:30-3:30, Sunday 11:00-12:00; locations are shown on the link's map.) I'm sure she would love to autograph a book for you there!
