Q: If April showers bring May flowers, what do Mayflowers bring?
A: PILGRIMS!!
(That is a new slapper even after 20 years in the classroom.)
Miss Jeffrey releases our class from Music. Ask about the great activities going on in there!
We are studying parts of a book in preparation of our book report. Today we worked on "Author Blurbs". This is a short piece that tells about the author. We read some "blurbs" on author Mo Willems. For practice, the class wrote a "blurb" on Mrs. O'Brien.
Blurbs must be third person: this means you write about yourself like you are writing about someone else. You cannot use words like "I" or "my". You have to say "she" or "he" when you write a "blurb" about yourself.
Here are authors hard at work1

The "blurbs" were so good I am making a book of the classroom's contributions. Look for it to come home soon.
