Spelling Superstars

Happy Birthday, C! (And thanks to his mom for the great snacks and treats to celebrate this special occasion.)
Every Thursday night for spelling homework, we try to come up with creative ways to study our spelling words. Mrs. O sent home a booklet with ideas and websites, but the students continue to come up with exciting projects of their own.
J created a word search and wrote his words "pyramid style".
E continued in his zombie theme and hid words in illustrations and pyramids.
E spelled her words with beads. Then she took a picture of it on an iPhone, emailed it to Mrs. O, and Mrs. O printed it!

C went to Discover.com and made a word search with the words and then circled them.
L made a Discovery.com word search and a spelling scramble!
E built his words from Legos and then took a photograph of them.
B made a chart of her words showing how they looked backwards and forwards, and told how many letters each had.
I created his words from pipe cleaners.
EK wrote the words in color, used them in sentences and wrote a secret code at the bottom by writing the words backwards. (We could see the right was on the back of the paper!)
E did the words backwards, as rhyming words and then put them in ABC order.
J created and worked a Wordsearch with his words.

G produced some great searches and word scrambles.
J drew words looked different, and then worked the words into a picture.
R  wrote the words in boxes, pyramids and in a regular way.
A illustrated her words and used them in sentences.
L wrote his words three times in excellent handwriting.

There you have it: the Most Creative Spelling Assignments in the known world.
(And may I add: the test scores on these words today were EXCELLENT!)
Way to create, Bumblebees!
