Tuesday Edition

My camera's battery is charged again. Here is a picture of L who was the Pocket King yesterday with 10 pockets on Pocket Day!
A was our first "Superstar Student of the Week". She prepared a wonderful board and presented it to the class today. Thank you , A, for a great job!
We read this book today during math. It shows 12 ways to get to 11. We were given Criteria Charts and we wrote ways to get to 12. (We had to include our name, illustration with color and detail, number sentence, word sentence, and theme.) Our class book will be called "18 Ways to Get to 12" (because we have 18 students).
G acted as our Scribe as we read the book out loud. She recorded all the ways that the author of the book created 11. Great job, G!
Computer! We worked in Learning.com on lessons about adjectives.
Adjectives are words that describe.
We completed a worksheet that will be sent to our classroom. We highlighted the adjectives in a story.
Another second grade teacher produced this interactive work sheet to help with adjectives. Which adjectives describe her dog?
I loved this t-shirt from "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". So true, J, so true.
We have Swallowtail butterfly chrysalises in our classroom now.
Don't you love the wide-eyed wonder of children?
Here we are watching the caterpillar's defense mechanism. Ask your child what it is.
Lock down drill! We had to lock the doors, turn off the lights, drop the shades and stay out of sight. A good time was had by all.

Thank you for all the items you are sending from the Wish List. We appreciate your contributions more than you can imagine in our classroom!
